Case study

LUSTRE Mag: search and AI visibility from zero.

Our own publication and test bed. In-house project, not a client. Updated 4 Nov 2026.

LUSTRE Mag (lustremag.com.au) is our own online magazine for Australian women 35–55, covering beauty, health, food and life. We use it to test every method Elodae sells before we use it for clients, and we'll keep updating this page as the results come in.

Starting point

A brand-new domain with no traffic, no backlinks and no search history. The site went live on 16 October 2026.

What we did

  • Technical SEO: clean URLs and canonicals, redirects, a sitemap and fast static pages.
  • Schema: Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Organization and Person (author) markup on every article.
  • llms.txt and open access for AI crawlers, so answer engines can read and cite the site.
  • Answer-first (AEO) content: a direct answer up top, verified price tables and FAQ blocks.
  • Internal linking: a link map so every article connects to related guides.
  • Content cadence and refreshes: steady publishing, with pages rewritten around what Search Console showed people searching for.
  • Directories and affiliates: first directory listings, plus affiliate networks (Awin, Commission Factory, Rakuten, Amazon AU).
  • Email capture: a newsletter, a quiz pop-up and a downloadable checklist.

Results so far (Google Search Console, 7 Oct – 3 Nov 2026)

  • 93 articles live by 4 Nov (from the live sitemap).
  • 3,033 impressions and 17 clicks within three weeks of launch (16 Oct – 3 Nov).
  • Weekly impressions grew from 761 (19–25 Oct) to 1,658 (26 Oct–1 Nov), and clicks from 1 to 11.
  • Average position improved from 31.8 to 23.9 week on week.
  • 690 search queries showing the site. 144 rank in the top 10, and 312 in the top 20.
  • AI answers: ChatGPT cited LUSTRE in 4 of 20 test questions on 2 Nov, up from 2 of 20 on 24 Oct.

Early numbers from a site less than a month old. AI answers change from run to run, so each check is dated.

What's next

Backlinks and digital PR, more directory listings, Perplexity and Google AI answer tracking, and growing the newsletter. We'll publish monthly updates here.
